Ok so this week, lets see little man is continuing his quest to learn how to stand and walk on his own. He is constantly pulling himself up on anything and everything he finds. And yes we are getting accustomed to falling down aswell, but it goes with the territory of growing up. He loves it when you hold his hands and support him when he walks, loves that I mean LOVES it. Little man also got his very first pair of Squeakers!!! Yay!! now we squeak when walking on tile or jumping up and down, he very much likes this and I love how it drives Sage bonkers. Squeakers are also apparently very tasty as the day we got them he grabbed them and crawled around the apartment chewing on them like a dog, go figure.
Easter was a fun event, we spent the afternoon as Chris' boss' house. The whole work gang + family was there, it was fun. Jacob got to meet and interact with other kids, apparently he likes them, so playdates may be next on my to do list. It was an amazingly fun time and little Jacob didnt freak out once during the 4 hour event, which surprised us. Needless to say he crashed shortly after we got home because he refused to sleep on both car rides and was subsequently up for around 7 hours straight by the time he fell asleep.

Oatmeal Apple Walnut Pancakes
Ok so I thought it would be fun to share the odd concontions I come up with on the fly. As we keep our pantry pretty much not stocked on a regular basis I sometimes have to get creative in the kitchen. This morning I wanted pancakes and I didnt wan the plain buttermilk pancakes the mix provides, so here are my jazzed up version. Enjoy
2 cups pancake mix (I use Aunt Jemima buttermilk mix)
1 1/4 cups water (or however much wet ingredients your mix calls for minus 1/4 cup of water or milk)
2 packages instant Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal mix (I dont care whose you use)
5 tbsp applesauce (or in our case apple baby food)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
a pinch of nutmeg
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Mix all ingredients together, let rest about 5 minutes and then cook like normal. Enjoy! They were very tasty this morning with some syrup.

Ok updates as its been FOREVER
Ok so updates into my world.
Little man has learned to pull up. Now this is a wonderful thing and a horrible thing all at the same time. For starters, I love seeing him grow and learn and being able to accomplish new tasks. BUT this means its time to lower his bed, he falls over a lot (but that brings odd joy moments for me because he needs me), and he is further terrorizing Sage (ok thats just funny).
Little man has also started up with his new word? phrase? I dont know which you want to call it but his thing is 'ma-ma-ma' or 'mom-mama'. The ruling is still out on that since its not a specific word its and sound uttered multiple times. He makes this new sound when he is hurt and needs love, is hungry and wants boobie OR when he crawls up to me and wants to be held (i.e. sleep). BUT its the only thing he says constantly with a purpose. He will every now and then utter 'da-da-da' but its a rareity. Poor Chris :(
We are trying new foods too! We have not only mastered the new food delivery system of hand to mouth YAY! but in doing so we now eat flavored rice puffs and yogurt melts YUM YUM. He likes both until they get shriveled up and almost all gone then he spits them out like I fed him poisin. I think Sage is going to get fat with all the goodies he keeps throwing her.
In the world of the parents i.e. Chris and me, not a whole lot is going on. Looks like we will be leaving this humid jailhouse around late July now :( makes me sad we will be here longer. But its ok as long as we are back in California by little man's first birthday all will be ok. I would hate to see all our family and friends miss out because no one wants to come visit us. I do feel a little irritated about that, but what can you do? Because apparently visiting family is a one sided thing, its our responsibility not theirs GRRRR. Ok over it (maybe).
Sage went to the vet today, she got the A-OK check from them, which is always good. And we were very pleased with her lack of freaking out while being at Petsmart (where the vet is) when she met lots of other doggies. She really does need better socialization, and some more training but we will get there eventually.
OOOOoooooo I am starting my own business I can now say I am a SAHM & WAHM, or does WAHM cover the SAHM part? I dont know, who cares really. But I am uber excited for it, hopefully people will want to buy the things I make, I mean its not the best thing out (I dont claim it to be) but I think they are pretty special. Either way as long as things get bought and I can do something with my free time it will be worth it. I am in no way hoping to go global with this at all.
Ok I think that about wraps it up for us, hope you have a great week too :D

Little Man learning to crawl
This is a bittersweet moment for me, with little man learning to crawl means he will be able to move around by himself a lot better needing me less. I know it has to happen, but why must this happen so soon? I miss holding him carrying him around, him solely needing me. I know that sounds kinda pathetic but its not that easy watching your little guy grow up.
While we aren't exactly crawling per se, we are almost there. Little man can now pop up into the crawl position and slide one knee forward, he does immediately collapse under the stress of the movement but he always moves forward. I like to help me out with practicing by taking one of his toys and placing it a few inches out of his reach. He likes to go for it, but once he can get it forget it its just time to roll over onto our back and eat the toy. I know he will be crawling in no time though.
Now the frustrating part of all this, BABY PROOFING! Eeeekkk! I have no idea where to begin, I mean sure cover the outlet with plugs and buy baby gates so he doesn't fall down the stairs. But is there more to it than that, and with baby gating the stairs how will I give Sage (our mini schnauzer) her exercise? We like to throw her toys down to the bottom of the stairs, have her fetch and then run back up. This whole crawling thing is going to be frustrating at first I can tell.

Trial Run
So here is the trial run to posting, brand new to this blogging world and it may take me some time to not only get used to it but become more regular at it. Still not completely sure the full direction of this blog and what I content I will be discussing. I know I want to bring to light all the baby and momma necessites that I find, things our parents and grandparents didnt have when we were growing up. There may be giveaways eventually, we will see as this evolves
